1. So the very mild touch of flu departed but left the door open for bronchitis to move in. I don't feel so bad but the constant cough is getting very boring and, while I'd like to think I sound husky and sexy, I suspect I sound more like a geriatric chainsmoker or creature of the underworld.
2. Two weeks after the allergy clinic visit and Daughter-two is remarkably perky and a little sparky and occasionally even a little cheeky. Her skin is still in a pretty bad way, but I suspect that is mainly because she won't keep off the grass at school and, as we now know, she is allergic to grass.
3. However, her diet is now a huge challenge. The gluten is the least of it. It's the dairy-free and soy-free that is the challenge. Add to that the allergy to apples which rules out the "fruit juice sweetened" gluten free cereals. Plus, since both she and I had a severe reaction to histamine in the prick tests, we are trying to stick to a low histamine diet which rules out cocoa and tomatoes and berries among lots of other things. Even pumpkin is not advisable. Today I bought a set of mini cookie cutters and am going to experiment with variations of the successful gingerbread men. And I need to check with the specialist if, although she is allergic to peanuts, she can eat almonds and cashews.
4. We have a new roof so now we will be able to enjoy the very New Zealand sound of rain on the roof, instead of dreading it.
I had to bite my tongue the whole time they were above my head though, because the foreman was incredibly abusive to the younger workers. No fun to sit below and listening to the swearing and the insults. Tempting to include a leaflet about anger management classes with the final payment!
5. These layouts serve as a sneak peek for the new template set coming to the store this weekend...
I'm so sorry to hear that diet is such a challenge for you guys! I admire your spirit of experimentation, and hope you can come up with some solutions. What on earth does she eat for protein?? Or are you guys not vegetarian (somehow I got the feeling you were)? Yay for the new roof! And I hope your lungs heal quickly...
