I LOVE scrapping old photos.
Once I am pretty much "caught up" on recent photos, I continue with my ongoing project to scrapbook the photographs of Daughter-One from when she was little. I am nearly always happiest with the layouts that result from the older pics.
At the moment I am working my way though the photo album from when she was three and we lived in Sydney, Australia.
I love the fact that the photos are usually pretty poor technically, yet release wonderful memories. I love taking these photos that she never looks at and creating pages that she loves and will hopefully treasure once they are printed in a book.
You can make quick and easy improvements to photos but using the Brightness/Contrast sliders, or my duplicating the photo layer and playing with blend modes such as Soft Light or Screen. You can also correct colours, though I often like to leave mine with a slight colour cast as it is quite evocative of the age of the photos.
But I also love the restrictions that scapping old photos impose - unlike now when I might have 30 photos from an event or outing, I might just have one or two pics and I have to make them work.
Also, the last of the weekend's new products have just arrived in store, including these from me:
And of course, all my kits and elements are in the sale. Here are just a few:
What wonderful layouts!! And what a cutie pie she was!!!

Oh Lynne! These measuring tapes are just what I need! I'm doing an album using "Rosalie" for my DD with all her sewing jobs chronicled. I found a bunch of vintage sewing pattern photos and these tape measures will be just the finishing touch I have been searching for! Thanks you!
