1. Did you see what I did there? Some people do "ten things on a Tuesday" but I settled on "five on a Friday" but to be honest that's probably a bit of a stretch some weeks. So how about "a few on a Friday" to take off the pressure?
2. I have been sub-editing for an Australian company to help them avoid having to find a local person willing to get up at 4am and focus on financial matters. The time difference means I don't have to start until 6am. (I can just imagine my face as a teenager if you told me I would ever write that sentence). But it's just for an hour or two and I had forgotten how satisfying subbing can be.
3. I finally got around to scrapping the photos of our Elf on a Shelf:
4. Summer continues to come and go, but a couple of scorching days brought the cicadas out in force. They are so loud in the trees at the front of the house it is almost deafening. If it was a neighbour with some sort of power tool it would drive you insane, but somehow because it is 'the sound of summer' nobody minds. And at least they shut up at night.
We went to visit a friend of Daughter-two at her grandparents' house miles out of town surrounded by pine trees. After exploring outside, we went to go in for afternoon tea and the friend said "oh hang on, I just have to empty out my pockets" and proceeded to pull out handful after handful of crackly cicada cases.
The hot, sticky weather also means that Daughter-two's arm encased in the cast has got quite whiffy. It smells just like I imagine the scent of sweaty socks soaked in vinegar.
5. (Hey I made it to five anyway!)
Here's a sneak peek of something coming to the store at Designer Digitals this weekend:
